Our kennel name "Colorado" was born in 1970 at the same time the Australian Shepherd Club of America was forming. We are charter members of that organization and among the first breeders to register our dogs with them.

Prior to that time, we registered with the National Stockdog Registry. Our dogs carried the "Sorensen" or "JBAR D" prefix. This was in the early 1960's.

Dick's first registered dog "Sorensen's GunSmoke" was born in 1964, and Dick's family enjoyed the Aussie as their working farm dogs in the 1950's.

Today our dogs still carry "Sorensen's GunSmoke" in their pedigrees. We still breed working showdogs. Our goals are still the same: great temperaments, flawless conformation, working ability, and beautiful type. Our dogs are medium sized. Males are 21 1/2 – 22 1/2 inches tall, 50 - 60 pounds. Bitches are 19 - 20 inches tall, 40 - 50 pounds. We raise all four colors of Aussies. We do not inbreed and only occasionally line-breed on very exceptional individuals. Our dogs enjoy perfect health, all of their teeth, OFA hips, and eyes checked yearly They are free from hereditary defects and guaranteed in writing. We temperament test all puppies and are experts in matching the right puppy to the right family.

Our dogs are double registered, both ASCA and AKC. We have produced over 50 champions; working titled and obedience titled dogs. We aren't the biggest breeders but our reputation is internationally recognized. We are both judges.

Dick and I hope to hear  from you soon
